Program Description Inland Empire United Way is committed to engage the community to improve the lives and futures of those in need by strategically investing in education, health and financial stability. By partnering with a network of local nonprofit organizations, Inland Empire United Way delivers critical services and funding to our community, connects individuals in crisis with needed resources through 211 and increases the power of local charities by providing dedicated volunteers. Position Overview The Development Manager serves as the primary spokesperson for IEUW in the Desert Communities region and is responsible for achieving fundraising goals and objectives for the region. This individual will provide strategic and collaborative leadership focused on building awareness of IEUW’s role in the community and identify new funding sources for the organization. Responsibilities include building and growing relationships with corporate and community partners, coordinating fundraising campaigns, serving as the primary contact for the region and assisting with fundraising activities and events throughout the year. This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Director of Development. Essential Functions • Assume a leadership role responsible for achieving the annual fundraising goals and objectives that support the overall mission of IEUW, particularly focused on the DC region • Represent IEUW at community functions and speaking engagements, presenting a professional image and advocating for effective community impact • Identify, cultivate and solicit donors and prospective donors in the DC region, including individuals, businesses, foundations/private grants and government sources • Facilitate planning and implementation of fundraising events and annual workplace giving campaigns to produce increased resource development results • Develop and implement goals and strategies for new business development • Conduct a significant number of one-on-one contact calls/visits per week with new business development prospects to build/maintain year-round relationships • Facilitate employee workplace giving throughout the region through company prospect development, relationship management, campaign planning, establishment of company goals, campaign presentations and collection of employee pledge results • Develop and maintain strong effective relationships with the CEO, Campaign Coordinators and other key employees within the company to provide quality customer service • Annually prepare and review a comprehensive analysis for each assigned account • Provide training, direction and support to Campaign Coordinators, including goal setting, task identification, establishing leadership support, motivating, scheduling and recognition • Review and monitor campaigns during and upon completion to identify problem areas and determine solutions • Maintain accurate and complete records on assigned accounts, reflecting changes in key personnel, number of employees, campaign history and frequency of contacts • Identify and implement strategies for building awareness of United Way’s brand and impact in the DC region, including representing and speaking at various community functions and networking groups • In coordination with the Marketing Manager, assist in the development of marketing messages, campaigns and materials for effectively communicating IEUW’s impact and call to action through printed material, website, media relations, social networking and other emerging technologies • Research, develop and implement strategies to improve fundraising impact, efficiency, and cost effectiveness to ensure the goals of the annual campaign are met • Track, follow-up, and collect funds, campaign results and pledges from companies/employees for submission to the Finance Department Secondary Functions • Provide support for IEUW events and activities • Other duties as assigned ...

Program Description Inland Empire United Way’s Community Programs Department develops, implements and manages programs meeting IEUW’s community impact goals in the areas of education, health and financial stability. This work is accomplished through United Way-managed programs provided in partnership with local companies, schools, community organizations and volunteers as well as through an annual competitive grant-making process to local community partners. Programs include IEUW’s School Tools, Kids Pack, Launch Point, ieReads, and ieVolunteers. Position Overview This position coordinates daily program operations, manages volunteers and provides general support to help facilitate IEUW-managed events and programs. This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Director of Community Programs and will be stationed in IEUW’s Apple Valley office. Essential Functions – 85% • Coordinate daily operations of the Kids Pack program, including but not limited to, maintaining student database, school district partner relations, ordering food/supplies, preparation of food bins for delivery • Coordinate operations of the School Tools program, including but not limited to, school/district relations, and the pick-up, assembly and distribution of supplies • Coordinate operations of the Launch Point program, including but not limited to, organizing business leader presentations, parent information nights, college tours, or job readiness workshops with local schools • Coordinate operations of the ieReads program, including but not limited to organizing Read Across America Day activities and story time events. • Promote and coordinate drives and special campaigns (i.e. Bag Childhood Hunger, School Tools Supply Drives, Book Drives) • Ensure a clean and safe environment for all program and volunteer events • Train and manage scheduled volunteers in set-up, check-in, orientation and facilitation of program operations • Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers • Collect necessary data for program evaluation • Provide monthly and annual programmatic updates • General clerical duties may include faxing, copying, message handling, filing, and data input • Successfully maintain performance parameters and improve skills through various means • Support the Resource Development Department in building relationships to create new and maintain existing partnerships, including public presentations and tours Secondary Functions – 20% • Aid with the development and implementation of IEUW special events and activities • Serve as support staff for IEUW-managed volunteer projects and take active role for Days of Service events • Represent IEUW at community meetings, networks and collaborative efforts that impact the areas of education, health and financial stability • Other duties as assigned • Complete community-building tasks as approved by supervisor or as necessary to further the mission of the department and the overall organization ...
