Child Program Facilitator

Essential Functions Prepare, arrange and conduct classroom environment in accordance to Nurturing Parenting Curriculum goals and philosophy. Develop and administer creative developmentally-appropriate activities to engage children and foster learning through the power of play. Provide childcare and lessons to children (while parents attend classes with the Nurturing Parenting Program) in community centers, churches, schools, meeting rooms, etc. Assist Parent Facilitators with both long and short range activities in accordance and compliance with Program philosophy, curriculum objectives and goals. Maintain regular communication with Case Managers and Parent Facilitator Maintain a safe and healthy environment Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and timesheets. Make appropriate referrals for participants as needed Local travel and community outreach required
Preferred: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Child Development, Psychology, Human Services, Sociology or a Social Science related field or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of family dynamics and early intervention services Possess an understanding of diverse parenting styles. 1-2 years working with at-risk children and their families 1-2 years facilitating or teaching Ability to teach, guide, interact and relate well with children ages 0-5. Ability to work with individuals/families from different backgrounds and ethnicities. Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English
